Project Launch isn’t your typical, dry orientation of endless paperwork. It is an engaging, collaborative week where you will:

Grow your practice through specialized professional development, including our Conscious Classroom workshop with guest speaker Katie Anderson.

Prepare with dedicated, hands-on time in your own classroom and specialized sessions with our Instructional and Student Support teams.

Mission Overview: The Week at a Glance
Tuesday, August 4 -
Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Manassas Park Middle School & School Campuses
What to Expect: Our welcome celebration begins! You will be introduced to our school division and community leaders and hear from Human Resources. Next, you'll get to know our school community firsthand with a guided bus tour (lunch is provided!). In the afternoon, you will head to your specific school-based meetings with administrators and Lead Teacher Mentors.
Wednesday, August 5
Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Manassas Park Middle School & School Campuses
What to Expect: In the morning, all new teachers to MPCS will participate in our Conscious Classroom workshop featuring guest speaker Katie Anderson. In the afternoon, you will return to your home campus to meet with your school's Student Support Team and learn about our behavior management procedures.
Thursday, August 6 - 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Report directly to your home campus
Elementary Campus: Spend the morning with Lead Mentor Teachers working in your classroom. In the afternoon, meet with the Division Instructional Team for content-specific sessions.
Secondary Campus: Spend the morning meeting with the Division Instructional Team on content-specific items. In the afternoon, return to your school to work with Lead Mentor Teachers and have classroom time.
Friday, August 7
Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Report directly to your home campus
What to Expect: Final campus preparations and classroom setup.
Note: All new Special Education Teachers will have a separate, specialized training session beginning at 1:00 PM in the MPMS Library.
