Paul Alexander, Chair

Mr. Paul Alexander is a 20-year resident of Manassas Park and currently has two children enrolled in Manassas Park City Schools. He, and his wife Kelly, enjoy attending and being deeply involved with their children's activities and sporting events, valuing family time, and being outdoors as much as possible.
Mr. Alexander is the Director of Operations and Logistics for a government IT provider and holds a B.B.A in Organizational Management from Radford University.
Mr. Alexander has always been a strong and active supporter of MPCS and is excited about the opportunity to continue to serve the community.
Dr. Shaunté Jones, Vice Chair

Dr. Shaunté Jones has been a dedicated resident of Manassas Park for 13 years and brings two decades of experience in education. Throughout her career, she has served in various roles, including 3rd Grade Teacher, Assistant Principal, Education Director, Professional Development Coordinator, and Instructional Coach/Learning Lab Manager across Virginia and Washington, DC. She currently serves as a Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, in Washington, DC.
Dr. Jones holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University. She also earned an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University, as well as a BS in Psychology and an MS in Elementary Education from Mary Washington College.
Passionate about teaching and learning, Dr. Jones is committed to making a positive impact in her community and is excited about the opportunity to serve in this role.
Ellen Slobodnik

Ms. Ellen Slobodnik has been in education for the past 11 years and has filled various roles such as Middle School and High School Social Studies Teacher, Instructional Lead Teacher, Professional Development Lead, Curriculum and Assessment Writer, Testing Coordinator, Technology Lead, Master Scheduler, and Athletic Director. She is currently an Assistant Principal in MD.
Ms. Slobodnik attended the University of Maryland where she received a BA in History, Government and Politics, and was part of the Honors Education Program. She continued her studies at UMD and received her Master's in Curriculum and Instruction.
Ms. Slobodnik is passionate about educational technology and helping students make a difference. She is excited about joining the Manassas Park Community and supporting all stakeholders of the school community.
Dr. Michael A. Becketts

Dr. Michael A. Becketts is a dedicated Manassas Park resident and a proud Cougar parent with two children currently attending the city's public schools. With over 25 years of public sector leadership, Dr. Becketts has managed complex organizational public human services systems, championing fiscal responsibility and human-centered leadership throughout his career.
He holds a Ph.D. and master's degrees in education, social work, and health administration. Dr. Becketts’ extensive civic involvement includes service on the Manassas Park Planning Commission, the Northern Virginia Workforce Board, and the Northern Virginia Community College Board.
On the School Board, Dr. Becketts aims to bridge the gap between K-12 education and regional workforce needs. He is committed to bringing his unique blend of parent perspective and executive experience to the board to advocate for student achievement, fiscal discipline, and collaborative, community-focused leadership.
Zach Graham

Mr. Zach Graham, his wife, and two daughters have been residents of Manassas Park since 2019. They enjoy spending time at school and community events, participating in youth sports teams, visiting parks and museums, and traveling.
Mr. Graham is currently a policy analyst for the federal government and has held positions related to personnel policy, suicide prevention, and quality of life. He holds a BA in International Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MA in International Affairs (U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security) from American University.
Mr. Graham is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Manassas Park community. He is committed to providing students and staff with every opportunity to succeed at their chosen path in a safe and supportive environment.
Melinda Deslauriers, School Board Clerk

Mrs. Melinda Deslauriers has served as the School Board Clerk since 2024. In addition to her School Board Clerk duties, Melinda is Dr. Saunders’ Executive Assistant. She joined Manassas Park City Schools in 2021 and has served as the Deputy Clerk from 2021-2024. With over 10 years of experience in education and 8 years in the private sector, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong organizational background to her work.
A graduate of George Mason University with a degree in Tourism and Events Management, Mrs. Deslauriers combines her academic foundation with practical expertise in leadership and administration. Outside of her professional life, she is a proud wife and mother of three. Her family enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly camping, and she finds joy in quiet moments, often curling up with a good book.
